With the new heating season approaching, DTEK Energy’s heavy engineering enterprises keep providing critical support to coal miners, ensuring the production of essential coal for the country and preparing thermal generation facilities for winter.
In the first eight months of 2024, heavy engineers produced and repaired 884 units of mining equipment. The key equipment includes ten new headers and shearers.
Additionally, engineers provided miners with 683,000 spare parts and components.
These efforts help strengthen the reliability of Ukraine’s thermal power plants for the upcoming winter, ensuring sufficient fuel supplies.
"With just over a month left before the heating season, we're going to face another test of our resilience. We pool every resource available to us to reinforce the energy sector. Our power engineers work 24/7 to restore thermal power plants, our miners keep producing coal to ensure reliable operations of our plants, and our heavy engineers are doing everything they can to provide coal mining companies with the necessary equipment,”
said Ildar Salieiev, CEO of DTEK Energy.
Background information:
In January-August 2024, DTEK Energy's miners launched 14 new longwalls, with plans to commission 12 more by the end of the year. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, the company invested UAH 17 billion of its own funds into Ukraine's mining industry. These funds were allocated for excavating and repairing the permanent mine openings, assembling longwalls, supplying tunnelling equipment, procuring underground mine transport, and implementing projects to sustain production capacities.
