Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Energy has been consistently assisting the Armed Forces of Ukraine with coal for heating. Over the past two years, the company's coal mining enterprises have delivered more than a thousand tonnes of coal to Ukrainian defenders stationed on the front lines and in military units.
Previously, coal was primarily transported in bulk by trucks. However, to extend humanitarian aid to as many units as possible and at the military's request, this time volunteers have packed it into 50 kg bags. Recently, the first shipments were dispatched to the defenders in Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions.
"We appreciate the company's support. This fuel will reach the farthest outposts, as every dugout needs it," says Oleksandr, a fighter from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
A miner working at one of DTEK Energy's coal mining businesses, Oleh, claims to be among the first to have joined the coal packing together with his colleagues:
"We contribute because we want to keep our defenders warm, let them dry their gear, reheat food or water. We are very grateful to them for repelling the enemy and holding the line. Today, every Ukrainian should help the military, making it a little bit easier for them, letting them feel the support of the people, a reliable home front, giving them strength to stand their ground and destroy the enemy."
DTEK Energy's coal mining businesses keep in regular touch with the military units that stand for Ukraine.
"We share whatever can be useful at the front from our own production supplies, and, of course, we provide coal. We help our brave combatants get warm as they keep fighting for our freedom and independence in extremely harsh conditions," said deputy executive director of DTEK Energy's coal mining company.
Since the onset of the all-out Russian invasion, DTEK Group has channelled more than UAH 1.1 billion to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and humanitarian efforts, with DTEK Energy contributing the lion's share of the amount.
