Our energy company DTEK is undertaking the construction of one of Europe's largest onshore windfarms. The 650 MW Poltavska windfarm, located in the Poltava region of central Ukraine, is a definitive step in securing the nation's energy infrastructure and advancing its transition to renewable power sources.
The total investment in the Poltavska windfarm is expected to reach €1.2 billion. As part of this comprehensive infrastructure project, DTEK Renewables will install up to 100 high-capacity wind turbines. This flagship development is designed to directly replace generation capacity that was damaged or completely destroyed during russian attacks. By introducing substantial new renewable generation, DTEK is actively facilitating Ukraine's shift toward a cleaner and highly decentralised power system.
Maintaining operations and expanding capacity during the ongoing war underscores DTEK's commitment to national stability. A decentralised and modernised power grid is an essential requirement for Ukraine's survival today and its economic prosperity tomorrow. This capital injection into the Poltava region serves as a clear indicator to international partners that Ukraine remains an active and attractive environment for large-scale industrial projects.

The Poltavska windfarm is part of a broader, sustained effort by DTEK to enhance renewable energy generation across the country. Over the course of the war, the company has successfully commissioned 114 MW of new wind capacity at the Tyligulska wind farm in southern Ukraine. DTEK is currently constructing an additional 384 MW at the Tyligulska site, bringing the total investment for that specific project to €650 million. Furthermore, DTEK has launched a 200 MW energy storage system, which is the largest facility of its kind in Ukraine, to ensure grid stability and manage the variable output of renewable generation.
These advanced, decentralised energy projects deliver immediate benefits to Ukraine's domestic grid while structurally contributing to the wider energy security of the European continent.
