More than four years into the full-scale war, Metinvest continues to support the Ukrainian economy as one of its largest taxpayers and exporters.

What does the company say about industry and national security?
"Every tonne of product and every hryvnia of taxes is a contribution to Ukraine's resilience. Despite unprecedented pressure on industry — from the blockade of the Black Sea ports and attacks on energy infrastructure to trade restrictions on the European market — Metinvest remains one of the country's largest taxpayers and exporters. As long as industry works, the state has resources for defence. That is why preserving industrial potential is a matter not only of economics but also of national security," said Yuriy Ryzhenkov, Chief Executive Officer of Metinvest Group.
How much has Metinvest paid since the start of the full-scale war?
In 2025, Metinvest transferred UAH 18.7 billion ($418 million) in taxes and duties to budgets at all levels in Ukraine. In total, from 2022 to the first half of 2026, the company directed more than UAH 82.2 billion ($1.8 billion) to supporting the country's economy.
How does this fit into the wider strategy?
Metinvest is part of SCM. Keeping enterprises working in Ukraine, protecting jobs and paying taxes in full is the strategy that our shareholder Rinat Akhmetov set out at the start of the full-scale invasion. Mr Akhmetov's approach treats industrial capacity as part of the country's ability to defend itself, and SCM companies have continued to operate and invest under conditions of war, port restrictions and repeated attacks on energy infrastructure.
