Now COVID-19 has faded into insignificance, as the incidence rate has dropped dramatically. However, the need for medical oxygen is in place, since it is also used during operations or in severe cases of respiratory diseases, heart failure, and poisoning.
For about two years, Zaporizhstal has been supplying medical grade oxygen certified by the Ministry of Health to hospitals, even despite the all-out war. The geography and scope of shipments have significantly decreased due to hostilities, but the plant continues to respond promptly to requests coming from medical institutions.
In particular, it sent nearly 70 tonnes of oxygen to hospitals in Zaporizhia and Synelnykove. Since the war broke out, the oxygen shipments have exceeded 850 tonnes. Thanks to the unwavering support from the steelmakers and power engineers, the medical oxygen needs are met immediately at no cost.
