In 2023, Ukrtelecom keeps on operating and providing services to its subscribers wherever it can, in particular, in all regions except for the temporarily occupied areas in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions. Internet service is available in 87% of the areas covered by the operator’s network at the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion. Ukrtelecom is gradually resuming operations in the liberated areas. The technology units of the company coordinate their actions with the State Emergency Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine and, once green-lighted, they do repairs in the retaken localities where the company’s infrastructure was destroyed or damaged.
- In Q1 2023, Ukrtelecom’s total revenue reached over UAH 1.3 billion, with EBITDA of about UAH 283 million and EBITDA margin of 21.4%.
- Over this time, Ukrtelecom has paid about UAH 430 million in taxes and levies to the national and local budgets.
Despite the all-out war, the company continues to develop its optical infrastructure, connecting new subscribers in different segments. Overall, the number of optical Internet subscribers reached nearly 313,000. More social infrastructure facilities get connected to the modern telecoms services. In Q1 2023, more than 80 educational establishments and medical institutions were connected to the fibre optic Internet. Currently, Ukrtelecom provides modern optical services to more than 1,680 educational establishments, 1,200 medical institutions, and 550 local communities.
The operator continues to manage effectively the property made idle as part of the modernisation. Revenues from the lease of idle property made UAH 116 million.
