Despite brutal shelling, Sloviansk shelters more and more children as families evacuate from Donetsk region localities struck by the war. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has supplied 2,000 food parcels to Sloviansk families with children. The aid has already been fully distributed.
"People value this support in such difficult times. This help is a safety net for many," says Eleonora who manages a distribution point in Sloviansk.
"This is a tremendous support. We are baking bread, cookies and buns for kids, so flour always comes in handy. Cereals also help out a lot, as they are quick and easy to cook," says Tetiana, a mother of three.
The Foundation's ambassador Mykola Osychenko, who is also in charge of Mariupol television, says that life in Donetsk Region is dangerous and stressful, and the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation will continue to support those in need.
Since the onset of the full-scale war, the Foundation has distributed 380,000 food kits to the residents of Donetsk Region and those who have temporarily evacuated from the area.
The Foundation has provided 13 million food packages to Ukrainians since 2014. The help is provided as part of the Rinat Akhmetov - Saving Lives programme.
