Over 200 Mariupol families living in Dnipro have received keys to new apartments as part of the I’m Mariupol. Housing social housing project, which the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation joined during its pilot phase. The Foundation took on the task of outfitting communal areas, children’s playrooms, and other shared spaces. This summer, residents moved into the second renovated and modernized dormitory, which the Foundation helped furnish. The second group of residents settled in just before Ukraine's Independence Day.
“The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has been consistently supporting Mariupol residents across Ukraine and fully understands the pressing need for temporary housing. Currently, the Foundation is one of the main Ukrainian donors to the 'I’m Mariupol. Housing' project. We’re very happy to be part of this new stage in the project’s development,”
said Mykhailo Katerynchak, project manager at the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
This initiative isn’t just about furnishing rooms with furniture, appliances, and toys; it’s about creating an environment that encourages connection, interaction, and mutual support, helping to maintain the strong sense of community among Mariupol residents.
The buildings equipped by the Foundation are home to internally displaced persons, large families, families with children with disabilities, single mothers, and families with minors and elderly members.
“We’ve managed to create a high-quality social facility that centers around the individual, with all the necessary conditions for comfortable living built around them. We’re currently renovating five more buildings in Dnipro, and we plan to expand the project to other cities in Ukraine,”
said Vadym Boichenko, Mayor of Mariupol.
The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation continues to provide ongoing support to Mariupol residents, delivering humanitarian aid to I’m Mariupol centers across the country. This aid includes food and hygiene kits, heaters, psychological support, and gifts and celebrations for children.
