FUIB's We Are of One Blood initiative has been actively supporting businesses, promoting blood donations, and aiding wounded soldiers and civilians in flash points for several months. The project has raised UAH 9 million that FUIB donated to DonorUA, Hospitallers and Blood Agents CSOs. This effort has helped save more than 130,000 lives.
In August, our Lifesavingtruck completed the Independence Runs in Our Blood mobile donation campaign. We extend our gratitude to Zaporizhia, Dnipro, Lviv, Odesa and Kyiv for their support, and to 465 donors and partners who contributed 209.5 litres of blood - enough to save 1,395 lives.
This year, FUIB partnered with Ukrainian Fashion Week for a performance featuring military heroes. In an atmosphere of dim lighting and silence, accompanied by the poetry of Serhiy Zhadan and illustrations by Uliana Niesheva, the Ukrainian combatants who have defended the country since the war's onset went out on the runway. They have put the freedom and dignity of Ukrainian people above their own lives.
This powerful tribute to quiet resilience and deep-rooted strength was symbolised by endemic plants embroidered on classic Kvitny shirts made by Ukrainian craftswomen. Folklorist Yaryna Sizyk, illustrator Maria Oz, and biologist Alla Hnatiuk collaborated to remind people of true values and honour the heroes for their priceless contribution to us all.
In August, the project raised funds to purchase 100 SICH tourniquets, 100 occlusive dressings, 200 rapid blood typing tests, 670 units of medicine for paramedic ambulances, and fund three blood deliveries to conflict zones. Each delivery has the potential to save up to 1,500 lives.
Since the launch of We Are of One Blood, the project has used the collected funds to:
- Deliver 83 shipments of blood components to conflict zones, saving over 124,000 lives.
- Provide 6,329 tactical medical items to defenders, including haemostatic bandages, trauma shears, tourniquets, occlusive dressings, etc.
- Supply 1,192 adaptive clothing items for the injured recovering in evacuation trains and hospitals.
- Deliver 992 units of medication for paramedic ambulances.
- Equip paramedic ambulances with 61 essential medical devices, including patient monitors, wireless ultrasonic scanner, infusion heaters, etc.
To date, 2,903 donors have joined the project.
