On 3 December 2024, Okhmatdyt, the nation’s leading children’s hospital, received cutting-edge neurosurgical equipment from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. The instruments are designed for diagnosing and treating brain conditions.
“This equipment represents an investment in the health and future of every child. We firmly believe that with these innovative tools, young patients will recover more quickly, giving them the chance for a brighter future,”
said Andrii Mishchenko, head of programmes and projects at the Foundation.
The delivery of equipment to Okhmatdyt is part of the Rinat Akhmetov to Children programme. Throughout the year, the programme carries out initiatives to support children whose childhoods have been profoundly affected by Russian aggression. These initiatives include medical treatment, rehabilitation, psychological support, and fostering talents through motivational activities. Rinat Akhmetov to Children is aid that brings a brighter tomorrow.
The new equipment enables specialists to diagnose, treat, or remove damaged tissues or tumours in the brain using a delicate endoscope with a camera, ensuring faster recovery for patients after surgery.
This delivery is another step in supporting Okhmatdyt following the terrorist missile attack in July 2024.
Thanks to this equipment, over 4,000 children each year will now have access to precise diagnostics and life-saving surgeries.
To date, more than 5 million children have received assistance from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
