The new drones will be operated by an aerial reconnaissance officer, a mobilised employee of Zaporizhstal.
Metinvest Group has handed over cutting-edge drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of the Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative. The military received two MAVICs: one for daytime, and the other will be their eyes at night.
Oleksandr Yehorov, head of Zaporizhstal's marshalling shop, handed over the new "birds" to the servicemen.
"Currently, about a thousand of the company's employees are on the frontlines. We must support them in every way possible as they are defending us there. That's why we are working to support our defenders, liberate our country from the invaders as soon as possible and bring our victory closer," commented Oleksandr Yehorov.
With a modern camera and zoom features, the scouts can see enemy positions within a range of 7 kilometres. The equipment will be in service on the Donetsk and Luhansk axes.
"These "birdies" are our reliable helpers day and night. It is thanks to drones that we can monitor the enemy's positions and actions. Sometimes they help us successfully advance or outflank the enemy, and sometimes they actually save our lives. So there are never enough drones on the front line. I am very grateful to Metinvest for this support," said an aerial reconnaissance officer nicknamed Gummi.
