In Kamianske, departments of city hospitals have reopened after being the first to undergo renovations as part of the implementation of the Cooperation Memorandum on socio-economic development, signed between the Metinvest Group and the Kamianske City Council.
Celebrating City Day by reopening socially significant facilities after repairs or reconstruction has become a cherished tradition in Kamianske. This tradition remains strong, even during the challenging times of war, particularly thanks to the city's reliable social partners, such as Kametstal and Metinvest Group. Recently, after major renovations, departments were reopened in the city's largest hospitals—Hospital No. 9 and the A&E Hospital. These renovations were co-financed by Metinvest as part of the ongoing agreement with the local community.
To recap, in May, Metinvest Group signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on socio-economic development with the Kamianske City Council. Under this agreement, the community will receive UAH 50 million from Metinvest between 2024 and 2025 for the implementation of socially significant projects in the city. Specifically, this funding is allocated to co-finance the reconstruction of three hospitals: Hospital No. 9, the A&E Hospital, and Primary Health Care Center No. 3. Additionally, with Metinvest’s support, civil defense shelters will undergo major renovations at the latter two hospitals, and a new bomb shelter will be built at Lyceum No. 22, meeting modern safety standards.
In July, the company sent the first tranche of funds to support the city, and in September, Kamianske will receive the second tranche. These funds have been used, in part, to co-finance the renovation of a 30-bed trauma department at City Hospital No. 9 and the clinical diagnostic laboratory at the A&E Hospital. Thus, the facilities received modern and nicely furnished wards, new medical equipment, and now boast a significantly improved environment for medical work and patients' stay. CEO of Kametstal plant Oleksandr Tretyakov visited the renovated facilities together with mayor of Kamianske Andriy Bilousov who expressed his gratitude to Kametstal and Metinvest Group for steadfast partnership and monetary contribution towards the city's social initiatives.
Oleksandr Tretyakov, CEO of Kametstal:
"Kamianske is a strong city of powerful people, and we aim to help the city council and all residents to grow even stronger. I have visited the hospitals not to supervise the works, but rather to see again how our cooperation with mayor Bilousov makes Kamianske a safer community in these difficult times. Today, Metinvest Group's top priority is to support the army and help the cities where we operate. It goes without saying that we always focus on our employees. And our joint social initiatives are the best way to congratulate Kamianske and its community on their City Day. Together we shall withstand and prevail!
