Metinvest Group has handed over almost a million litres of fuel and 312 vehicles of various types to the Armed Forces since the onset of the full-scale invasion. The assistance is provided as part of the Steel Front military initiative launched by businessman Rinat Akhmetov.
The war in the 21st century is a competition of technology. Thus, the advantage on the battleground often depends on equipment provided to the military. Vehicles are as important as weapons as they help strengthen positions, provide the troops with supplies, move quickly, and be one step ahead of the enemies. Metinvest Group sends fuel and vehicles to the frontlines to ensure the mobility of our defenders.
FACTS AND FIGURES
Over nine months of the all-out war, Metinvest has donated more than UAH 2.8 billion for Ukraine to withstand and win, including UAH 1.5 billion to meet the needs of the military.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the defenders received special-purpose vehicles from the Group, such as trucks, bulldozers, and excavators, to build fortifications and defenсe constructions.
Later, Metinvest started bringing vehicles from abroad as part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative. The company sent pickup trucks, 4WD SUVs, and minibuses to the frontlines. These are needed to transport ammunition and personnel, evacuate the wounded, deliver important cargoes, redeploy troops, and carry out raids behind the enemy lines.
In addition, Metinvest bought 20 ambulances in Europe for the combat medics of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine to save the lives of wounded soldiers.
All of 312 vehicles sent to the frontlines have been fully MOTed at the company’s cost, so that our defenders feel safe and confident.
VEHICLE FLEET FOR UKRAINIAN ARMED FORCES
As part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative Metinvest has handed over 312 vehicles of various types and purposes, including 20 ambulances, to the Ukrainian combatants.
Meanwhile, Metinvest provides fuel to meet the needs of the military and territorial defenders and has handed over almost one million litres of petrol and diesel fuel. This was particularly important in spring when there was a shortage of fuel in the market. The Group regularly sends fuel to Avdiivka communities so that local critical infrastructure facilities could operate as normal.
“Our defenders are zealously moving forward to clear Ukraine of the enemies. We saw to give the Armed Forces vehicles with full tanks. This war is about mobility and being ahead of the enemy. That’s why we also provide the military with cutting-edge drones and thermal imagers. As our combatants are defending the independence of our country on the frontlines, Metinvest Group remains their reliable support that brings Ukraine’s victory closer,”
said Metinvest Group CEO Yuriy Ryzhenkov.
