As part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative, Metinvest Group has donated 30 ambulances worth around UAH 18 million to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The company provides regular assistance to the Ukrainian defence forces, having allocated more than UAH 2 billion to support the army over 15 months of the war.
Every minute can save a life at the front, so it is important that combat medics can evacuate our wounded defenders from the combat area safely and quickly. Metinvest provided 30 ambulances to the Armed Forces of Ukraine that will help take care of the defenders of Ukraine.
The ambulances came from Italy, and each of them costs around €10,000-15,000 excluding delivery and repairs. Moving vehicles from Europe is not easy: Metinvest engages carriers from Poland, then volunteers deliver the ambulances to Ukraine where the vehicles undergo repairs and come to Kyiv to be distributed as intended.
The ambulances will be handed over to combat medics of military units and military hospitals that send vehicles to the warfare areas that need them most.
This is not the first time Metinvest has delivered ambulances. Last year, the company donated vehicles for civilians and the military. Thus, Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative sent 20 special-purpose vehicles to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine. Metinvest Group has handed over almost 100 ambulances during the full-scale war.
As a pillar of strength for Ukraine and Ukrainians, Metinvest allocated UAH 3.7 billion over 15 months of the all-out war and will do everything it can on the way to Ukraine’s victory.
