Dear Fans, dear Friends!
The passing year of 2024 has been another year of trials and Ukraine’s unwavering fight for freedom, independence, and life itself. We persevered and once again showed the world our strength and courage. We do have a lot to be proud of!
For Shakhtar, 2024 was a year of both joy and sorrow. We had our moments of pride: we achieved the golden double by winning the championship title and the Ukrainian Cup. These accomplishments are especially meaningful now – they were achieved against all odds through the relentless and dedicated efforts of our players, coaching staff, management, and every employee. They symbolise the resilience and unity of the Shakhtar family. We won these trophies thanks to your unwavering support. You, our fans, inspire the team to strive for new horizons. Therefore, I share in your moments of sadness – we ended the year in an awkward position in the championship standings, and every point lost left its mark on our hearts. Yet, we will not give up. In 2025, we will do everything we can not only to compete for gold but to make every Shakhtar fan proud once again.
Another significant achievement for both the club and Ukraine was winning the 2024 Emmy Sports Awards for Football Must Go On documentary, which tells the story of Shakhtar’s season during the full-scale war. The filmmakers accomplished something truly remarkable, once again bringing Ukraine’s story to the world – sharing the spirit and bravery of Ukrainian people standing against the enemy, and the unbreakable resilience of the Ukrainian nation.
The New Year holidays are a special time for all of us. It’s a time when everyone, every adult and child alike, believes in miracles. It’s a time of great hopes, of dreaming, and planning for the future. While each of us has our own goals, today all Ukrainians share one big dream for a long-awaited, honest, and just peace for Ukraine.
May this year bring that peace into your life, the long-awaited peace. May your homes always be filled with prosperity and warmth. May the year ahead bring countless bright and joyful moments, including the thrilling games of our favourite team.
