In December 2022, FUIB team decided to use the Christmas greeting money in its budget to save the lives of Ukrainian people. The bank used UAH 3 million to purchase the equipment for the operating room in one of the hospitals located on the front lines. This amount was not enough to purchase all the necessary equipment so the bank called on its friends, partners and clients to join the fundraising efforts.
On the Christmas Eve, FUIB launched the online fundraising campaign on its website at www.pumbdonation.com.ua. All those wanting to help could join the initiative and support the doctors saving lives on the frontlines. The fundraising appeal raised UAH 6 million, the total amount required for the purchase of all vitally important equipment.
Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, a reliable organisation with a track proven record, acted as a partner of the initiative. As a result, the funds were enough to purchase equipment for four operating rooms instead of one. According to doctors, with this new equipment they can save up to 900 lives every month. The equipment included blood transfusion systems, four surgery tables and lamps, endoscopy tower, blood pressure machine, consumable materials and supplies for operating rooms.
The head doctor of the front-line medical facility thanked all those who provided help, underlining that “the surgical equipment helps patients with polytrauma and battlefield wounds from the first days of their admission to the hospital when every minute counts in emergency care, and actually brings them back to life”. The emergency care hospital helps the wounded soldiers and victims of the liberated areas in Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts.
