DTEK Energy and its employees continue to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, local communities, and humanitarian initiatives.
Recently, DTEK Energy’s coal mining companies have donated 30 sets of specialised protective clothing and footwear to the rescuers of the 8th Military Mine Rescue Unit in Dnipropetrovsk Region. The total value of the aid amounted to nearly UAH 826,000.
These rescuers not only work underground to ensure the safety of miners but are increasingly called upon to respond to the aftermath of missile and drone attacks in the region. However, their standard equipment is not designed for extinguishing above-ground fires – it requires specialised protection resistant to high temperatures and open flames.
Understanding the real risks these rescuers face daily, DTEK Energy provided specialised suits, boots, and gloves that meet the highest safety standards.
The lives and health of rescuers directly depend on their gear. Thus, the company made a decision to support those who put themselves in harm’s way for others. Reliable equipment is not just about protection: it is a sign of care and gratitude for their dedication.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Energy’s coal mining companies have supplied 3,000 tonnes of coal and 4,500 cubic metres of firewood to help keep Ukrainian defenders warm. Beyond heating, the firewood is also used to reinforce bunkers against shrapnel and drone strikes.
