DTEK Energy’s mines operate at maximum capacity to maintain the Ukrainian energy grid infrastructure at the time of war and provide coal to thermal power plants.
To this end, the company’s mines launched 28 new longwalls in 2022.
“Ukraine is going through the toughest winter in its history. Massive enemy attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure facilities are a dramatic confirmation of this. Our power engineers are doing everything they can to mitigate the impacts of these attacks and resume operations as soon as possible. Our miners do equally important work, providing the Ukrainian thermal power plants with much-needed fuel despite the war. Their efforts are key to keeping the warmth and lights on in Ukrainian homes,” said DTEK Energy CEO Ildar Salieiev.
DTEK Energy not only provides its own TPPs with fuel, but also supports government-run facilities in Ukraine. It shipped more than 120,000 tonnes of coal in late 2022 to meet their needs and help them go through the heating season easier.
