As the heating season approaches, DTEK Energy’s power engineers and repair teams continue to restore thermal power plants damaged or destroyed during the enemy’s massive attacks on the energy sector.
According to preliminary estimates, the company invested nearly UAH 2 billion in the repair campaign at the TPPs from January to July 2024.
“With just over two months left until the start of the heating season, our power engineers and repair teams keep working 24/7 to swiftly restore and reintegrate as much damaged capacities as possible back into the energy grid. They’ll be able to make some progress, but the extent of the destruction is so immense that restoration efforts will need to continue throughout the winter and into the coming years, as full recovery requires,”
said Ildar Salieiev, CEO of DTEK Energy.
Overall, DTEK Energy plans to invest about UAH 3.9 billion in TPP repairs in 2024, same as last year.
For reference
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Energy’s thermal power plants have been attacked by the enemy over 180 times. In March-June alone, the enemy launched seven massive attacks on the company’s thermal power plants. As a result of the shelling, about 90% of DTEK’s thermal generation capacities have been destroyed or damaged. According to preliminary estimates, approximately UAH 14-16 billion ($350-400 million) will be needed to restore the capacities damaged by the attacks. This amount covers the damage to equipment and the cost of repair work.
