Stand With Ukraine
Last month, DTEK Energy’s coal mining operations saw the introduction of four new longwalls. Thanks to the extra hard work of the miners, one of the longwalls was successfully brought online ahead of schedule.
So far in 2024, the company’s miners have put six new longwalls into operation, ensuring fuel supply to thermal power plants for the next heating season.
“This winter, we navigated many challenges, largely helped by the coordinated and intensified efforts of all parties involved – heavy engineers, miners, and energy workers. We are already establishing a solid foundation for the next winter. The new longwalls guarantee stable coal production and, consequently, reliable operation of thermal generation throughout the year, particularly during peak consumption periods and in the future heating season,”
stated Ildar Salieiev, CEO of DTEK Energy.
In 2023, DTEK Energy launched 26 new longwalls, with the company’s investments in Ukrainian coal production reaching approximately UAH 7 billion, doubling compared to 2022.
