DTEK Energy’s heavy engineering arms continue to supply Ukrainian mines with the essential equipment required for coal production.
From January to April this year, heavy engineers manufactured and repaired 1,136 units of mining equipment, including three new tunnelling machines for mining operations.
Additionally, heavy engineers provided more than 735,000 spare parts and components to support mining operations.
“We are already actively preparing for the upcoming autumn-winter period, as our primary objective is to go through it as safely as possible. To achieve this, our heavy engineers provide miners with necessary equipment and hundreds of thousands of spare parts that are essential for the reliability of coal mining and, consequently, the operation of thermal generation, especially during peak electricity consumption,”
shared Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Energy.
For reference
To help thermal generation prepare for peak summer demand and the upcoming heating season, DTEK Energy has commissioned five new coal faces year-to-date, two of them in April alone. In 2024 alone, DTEK Energy invested about UAH 7.5 billion in Ukrainian coal mining. Over the three-year period from 2022 to 2024, total investments reached UAH 18 billion. These funds were allocated for the development and renovation of key underground mining operations, equipping new coal faces, upgrading mining machinery and underground transport, as well as implementing projects to sustain and expand production capacity.
