1,000 days have passed since the full-scale invasion began, bringing huge losses for Ukraine. Yet, this period has also been marked by unwavering resistance and unity as the nation fiercely defends its free future.
Since the onset of Russia’s war against Ukraine in 2014, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has remained a steadfast supporter of those in need. It provides medical treatment and rehabilitation for wounded children and adults, offers psychological assistance, hands over food and medical kits, as well as medical equipment. To date, the Foundation has implemented over 70 socially-focused programmes and projects.
Since the war began, the organisation has delivered more than 13 million food kits, 800,000 medical kits and equipment, and has regularly supported the rehabilitation of adults and children injured in the war. The Foundation has provided treatment and rehabilitation to more than 11,000 Ukrainians since 2014.
Its particular focus is on children, with over 5 million children receiving comprehensive support to date. On the 1,000th day of the full-scale war, the Foundation provided another round of assistance to Okhmatdyt hospital as part of a three-phase equipment donation initiative. Earlier, the Foundation donated modern ambulances to the hospital.
Last year, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation joined the pilot social housing project IMariupolHousing for displaced residents of Mariupol. As the main Ukrainian donor of this initiative, the Foundation furnished shared-use spaces and a playground.
The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation’s Civilian Voices Museum is another vital initiative. Not only does it serve as a critical archive with 120,000+ firsthand accounts, but it also forms the basis for the fair prosecution of war crimes. The Museum chronicles the truth about the war, documenting the tragedy the country has endured since 2014.
To mark 1,000 days since the full-scale invasion, the Museum of Civilian Voices launched a special project, 1,000 Days. Thousands of Stories – a collection highlighting 20 key milestones of the war’s 1,000 days. Explore these stories here: https://bit.ly/4eAwha7.
For 19 years, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has been providing daily support to those in need and remains committed to continuing its vital work.
