In 2025, First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB), part of the SCM investment group, maintained its systematic support for the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine. Over the past year, the bank invested UAH 151.7 million ($3.6 million) to supply frontline units with essential technology, equipment, and gear.
Since the first days of the war launched by russia, FUIB has consistently aided Ukrainian defenders, with total investments now exceeding UAH 465 million ($11.1 million). This funding covers a wide array of vital supplies, ranging from tactical medicine and satellite communication systems to evacuation vehicles and power generators.
This sustained support is a direct implementation of the strategy established by our shareholder, Rinat Akhmetov. To consolidate the assistance efforts across all SCM businesses, Rinat Akhmetov created the Steel Front initiative. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, this initiative has allocated $300 million to assist military personnel and civilians, ensuring that defenders possess the high-tech equipment needed to protect the sovereignty of Ukraine.
Meeting Urgent Needs at the Front
Leonid Skalozub, Deputy Chairman of the FUIB Management Board for Security, stated that the bank focused its 2025 efforts on fulfilling urgent requests from the most active areas of the front line to ensure defenders had the necessary protection and supplies. The bank established a highly efficient procurement process, requiring a maximum of three working days from the receipt of a request to the payment for the materials. Through this system, 229 military units received critical assistance.
Throughout 2025, FUIB financed the acquisition of:
- 34 vehicles alongside 2,022 pieces of equipment and tools for vehicle repair.
- 343 reconnaissance drones and interceptor aircraft.
- 119 electronic warfare systems.
- 41 thermal imagers and 931 communication and observation devices.
- 1,407 charging stations, generators, and portable power stations to ensure autonomous operation.
- 436 units of computer equipment.
- 1,984 items of tactical clothing and gear.
Specialised medical equipment for hospitals and paramedics.
Strategic Partnerships and Social Initiatives
To maximise the impact of its contributions, FUIB collaborated with major charitable organisations in 2025, including the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, Charter (Khartia), Kolo, and Steel House, as well as numerous smaller funds. These partnerships facilitated the procurement of electronic warfare systems, interceptor drones, charging stations, communication devices, and medical equipment.
Furthermore, FUIB continued its systematic support for both military and civilian populations through the social project "We are of one blood". In cooperation with partners such as DonorUA, Blood Agents, Hospitallers, and Solomianski Kotyky, the bank supplied defenders with tactical medicine, provided paramedics with essential equipment and medication, and successfully organised public blood donation drives.
FUIB will continue to provide multifaceted assistance to the country as long as the war continues.
