Ukrtelecom is actively working to address damages to the telecommunications infrastructure and restore connectivity in the liberated areas.
Restoring communication in the frontline area is a constant routine done by Ukrtelecom employees in cooperation with the military, mine clearance teams, and local administrations.
Before entering a liberated settlement, a series of measures overseen by the military must take place. Only then can telecom and energy workers begin.
Repair and restoration teams work wherever they can, restoring communication at critical facilities in the shortest time possible.
Communication services are in operation in settlements located in Donetsk Region under Ukrainian control, where Ukrtelecom remains active.
The company is restoring networks in the liberated areas and building new locations to ensure people have access to connectivity, primarily internet access. Sviatohirsk is a prominent example as the entire town relies on Ukrtelecom’s internet service.
As of March 2024, Sviatohirsk and Lyman territorial communities in Donetsk Region are covered by Ukrtelecom’s fibre-optic network.
