Ukrtelecom, one of Ukraine’s key telecom providers, has become a strategic partner of National Technical University of Ukraine Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI). The partnership is aimed at strengthening the link between education, research and practical experience in the field of information and telecommunication technologies.
The collaboration includes a comprehensive range of initiatives to support students, faculty, and researchers, and to cultivate a new generation of highly qualified telecom professionals. The signed agreement outlines the following areas of cooperation:
- joint development and modernisation of academic curricula with a focus on hands-on learning and business relevance
- upgrading the university’s facilities and equipment
- implementation of R&D projects
- launching certificate programmes, organising internships and industrial placements with employment opportunities at Ukrtelecom
- professional development programmes
- educational and scientific events such as seminars, trainings, and workshops.
“Ukrtelecom has always supported and will continue to support Ukrainian education. We believe that today’s students - those who are acquiring knowledge, shaping new technological approaches, and boldly looking to the future - are the key to sustainable growth in the telecom industry. Our collaboration with KPI is a meaningful mission and a long-term investment in the country’s intellectual capital.
Our professionals are the people who build and restore telecommunications infrastructure every day under wartime conditions, counter cyber attacks and maintain a secure perimeter around our network. They not only ensure stable connectivity under extreme conditions, they also share this experience with international colleagues, contributing to the resilience of the entire industry.
We believe this unique hands-on expertise will be of great value to students and faculty - in education, research, and innovation. For us, this partnership is also a source of inspiration and synergy,”
said Yuriy Kurmaz, CEO of Ukrtelecom.
“For KPI, a partnership with such a high-tech company is a powerful driver of growth. Today, five of our faculties and institutes train telecom professionals, and another five specialise in IT.
Combining cutting-edge technologies, real-world business cases, scientific research, and quality engineering education opens up new opportunities for students in their studies and employment, for faculty in their research, and for Ukraine in delivering critical, including dual-use, national projects,”
said Anatoliy Melnychenko, Rector of KPI.
This partnership marks a step forward for innovation, sustainable development, and a high-tech future for Ukraine - paving the way for collaborative efforts and new opportunities.
