Metinvest Group continues to help Ukrainian defenders bring the victory closer. Recently the company has provided Elf long-range UAVs to the Ukrainian defenders as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front Initiative.
Providing eyes in the sky to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a focus area of Metinvest support for defenders. After all, drones help detect the enemy at a distance without endangering our soldiers. The more iron birds the Ukrainian military have, the more effective they are on the front line. Recently, Metinvest has sent Elf long-range UAV to our fighters on the battlefield. It has reliable navigation and covers a distance of over 100 km.
"We have been pleasantly surprised. The main feature of this drone is its ability to evade the enemy's electronic warfare equipment and fly in the areas not accessible for other drones. Also, it has a range of 70km, one way," explains the soldier.
The drone's small dimensions help it remain invisible to enemy air forces, for it appears on radar as a large bird. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are already using Elves for reconnaissance and fire control. These drones can identify the coordinates of enemy vehicles within 1 metre, even in bad weather.
As a reminder, Metinvest provides extensive assistance to the Ukrainian army as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative. Since the outbreak of the all-out war, the company has donated over UAH 1.6 billion in aid to the military. The Group regularly sends protective gear, prefabricated shelters, drones, vehicles, generators, portable charging stations, overalls, etc. to the frontline.
Moreover, Metinvest provides free steel for armour plating and buggy manufacture. Working in-house or together with its partners, the Company also produces metalware to make the life of defenders easier.
