Metinvest Group, as part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative, has contributed significantly to Ukraine's defense efforts by procuring and donating a batch of essential drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This donation includes 230 FPV drones, 5 DJI Mavic 3T copters, and 3 Sirko reconnaissance UAVs, with a total value of UAH 4 million.
The ongoing conflict has increasingly witnessed the use of drones by both Ukrainian forces and the enemy. As the enemy resorts to nighttime attacks on peaceful Ukrainian cities and towns, the effectiveness of UAVs on the battlefield has become evident. Metinvest Group recognized the critical importance of drones early on in the full-scale invasion and initiated efforts to provide much-needed UAV support.
On the eve of Ukraine's Defender Day, another shipment of aid was delivered to the combat support company of military unit A3719. This shipment comprises a diverse range of drones, including 230 FPV drones, 5 DJI Mavic 3T copters, and 3 Sirko reconnaissance UAVs worth UAH 4 million.
"Metinvest Group, through its consistent supply of drones to Ukrainian defenders, has emerged as one of the largest drone suppliers among private businesses. However, the company's motivation goes beyond acquiring this status. Our primary objective is to support Ukraine and contribute to achieving swift victory. I'm confident that this latest aid shipment would greatly benefit Ukrainian defenders in their mission,”
said Oleksandr Vodoviz, Head of Metinvest Group CEO's Project Office.
Overall, as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative, Metinvest has channelled UAH 2 billion to support the Ukrainian army. Furthermore, the company procures and brings cutting-edge equipment from oversees. Metinvest's Ukrainian-based companies have also ventured into domestic production catering to the Army's requirements, ranging from armoured plates for body armour to special prefabricated shelters.
