As part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative, MetinvestGroup has delivered yet another batch of energy equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine - 10 EcoFlow charging stations and 18 generators. The total value of the aid is ca. UAH 2 million.
In conditions of constant shelling and damaged or inaccessible power grids, Ukrainian troops rely on autonomous energy sources: generators and portable charging stations.
This time, under the Steel Front initiative, Metinvest donated EcoFlow charging stations to the 20th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment, known as K2. These portable devices enable the charging of UAVs, radios, tablets, and thermal imagers, and provide lighting. Also, 18 generators were delivered to power field medical stations, thermal cannons, and other essential frontline equipment.
“Reliable power supply at the front isn’t a luxury - it’s a necessity,” explains Oleksandr VODOVIZ, Head of CEO’s Office of Metinvest Group. “UAVs, communication systems, medical equipment – all depend on energy. That’s why we consistently deliver charging stations, generators, and everything our soldiers need to stay operational even under the harshest conditions.”
This is not the first such delivery - the Steel Front regularly supplies energy equipment in response to frontline requests.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front has provided systematic support to Ukraine’s defence forces - from armoured vehicles and shelters to specialised equipment and logistics. In 2024 alone, the initiative transferred more than 6,000 units of specialised equipment, including power systems.
High-quality charging stations and generators have become a lifeline in the field, offering an alternative to traditional power grids and ensuring stable, autonomous electricity supply.
The Steel Front is a united initiative of all Rinat Akhmetov’s businesses, consolidating their efforts to support Ukraine’s defence. To date, Rinat Akhmetov’s contributions to Ukraine have exceeded UAH 11.3 billion.
