Specialists of DTEK Dnipro Grids have restored power to the residents of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast after Russian attacks on 22 August. Power was restored to 50,500 Ukrainians. DTEK emergency repair teams keep working to restore power supply and repair the electrical equipment as soon as they are given the green light from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast keeps suffering from artillery strikes and missile attacks. These attacks also destroy the energy infrastructure of Ukrainian towns and villages.
On the morning of 22 August, a Russian missile struck one of Ukraine’s major cities. The shelling caused the destruction of private property as well as a high-voltage transmission line, leaving 50,500 people without electricity.
DTEK emergency repair teams started repairing the transmission line as soon as the military and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine gave them the green light. Power was restored to nearly 31,000 households by 6.15 a.m. Within the next two hours, power was restored to other households and businesses without electricity by using backup power lines.
