Despite the shelling that damages its thermal power plants, DTEK Energy continues to reliably generate power that flows into the Ukrainian energy grid, having produced more than 13.6 billion kWh over 11 months of 2023.
This much power is equivalent to average annual consumption of nearly 4.5 million households. Thus, the energy grid could be properly balanced during the day as well as at peak load times in the mornings and evenings.
"Ukraine's thermal generation infrastructure incurred severe damage due to Russia's energy terror. However, our power engineers managed to restore the equipment and complete all scheduled repairs in preparation for winter, and even push beyond that to reliably sustain the energy system and bring electricity and heating to the Ukrainian homes throughout the year. We continue our work as the power grid experiences maximum loads due to cold weather and low available backup generation capacities inside the country," said Ildar Salieiev, CEO of DTEK Energy.
