As part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative, Metinvest Group has handed over one more batch of modern equipment worth UAH 2,300 million to Ukrainian combatants who defend Avdiivka and Bakhmut.
Donetsk region remains a Ukrainian flashpoint, with most fierce battles taking place in and around Avdiivka and Bakhmut, as Russia keeps on trying to extend the boundaries of occupation. Metinvest delivered one more batch of equipment to the frontline to help Ukrainian defenders stand firm against the enemy.
The defenders received six UAVs, a Starlink system, two EcoFlow batteries, three radio stations, and five night vision devices. Also, Metinvest brought the combatants gas masks to protect their respiratory system against chemicals if Russian invaders use them.
“Drones are about the lives of our brothers-in-arms. The drones cover larger areas and detect changes to the environment far more quickly and efficiently than a human eye,” said a soldier nicknamed Coach.
“This time, we have brought everything that the combatants asked us for: night vision devices, Mavic UAVs, and protective masks against gas shells. We have been helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the war’s outbreak and will continue to do so until our victory,” said Oleksandr Myronenko, COO of Metinvest Group.
Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest has channelled more than UAH 1.6 billion as part of the Steel Front initiative to help the Ukrainian army. The company has already donated more than 1,200 drones, 1,700 thermal imagers, 321 vehicles, including ambulances, and more than 1.1 million litres of fuel.
