Since the onset of the full-scale war, Metinvest's Humanitarian Hub in Kryvyi Rih has arranged the delivery of assistance to 12 communities in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Kherson Oblasts. The processes have been coordinated by Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future CSO.
The volunteers from Metinvest's enterprises in Kryvyi Rih have packed and handed over almost 95,000 food parcels, 19,500 hygiene kits, over 7,000 kg of grains, and 2,500 packs of condensed milk.
To date, more than 80,000 IDPs have found temporary home in Kryvyi Rih communities. For almost two years, Metinvest has been helping to set up comfortable shelters and shared accommodation for families with children and pensioners who had to flee from active hostilities and leave their homes behind. The company procures construction materials, bedding, home appliances, and other essentials.
Notably, Metinvest keeps contributing to the construction and restoration of infrastructure facilities in many communities around Kryvyi Rih. An important part of those efforts is drilling and commissioning of geological exploration wells in Karpivka, which allowed to streamline the free supply of purified drinking water to the community.
Renovation is almost done at the classrooms of Novostarodubsky vocational school in Petrivka. In the old structures, construction teams removed the worn-out flooring before laying fresh concrete. They smoothed out the walls, installed suspended ceilings, and replaced the window frames and doors. These refurbished spaces will serve as temporary homes for displaced families currently residing in Novi Petrivtsi.
Metinvest's assistance notably extends to displaced families with young children. Beyond providing food and hygiene kits, they have, over the past eighteen months and in collaboration with educators from the Kids Education network and the Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future, organised and conducted more than 20 diverse creative workshops. These events have engaged over a thousand children of various ages.
