Since the full-scale war broke out, FUIB (First Ukrainian International Bank) has continued operations despite incurring the biggest losses in the financial sector. Such resilience shows that it is possible to grow and help the Ukrainian economy, private and public sector, in defiance of all challenges and hardships.
Over two years, FUIB has channelled more than UAH 471 million to help the Ukrainian Defence and Security Forces, volunteers, war victims, and various social initiatives. This includes UAH 169 million allocated to support the defenders.
Ahead of Ukraine's Independence Day, the bank together with its customers and partners held a mega fund raiser, bringing in UAH 60 million and 33 Morok long-range drones that are currently destroying the enemy's strategic facilities.
FUIB has also launched its own initiative We Are of One Blood to promote blood donation and help the wounded, saving more than 90,000 lives so far and thus becoming the bank's proudest achievement.
FUIB's best and most patriotic customers deserve their own praise, as throughout the two years they have donated more than UAH 500 million to support the army and bring our victory closer.
"Notwithstanding the fact that 24 February commemorates the irrecoverable losses, unjustified cruelty, and endless grief, it also marks the anniversary of boundless heroism, astonishing resilience, and tremendously hard work. Each Ukrainian has taken every effort so we could be a free and independent nation with unbreakable people that we are today. The Ukrainian banking sector is far from being a passive observer. We are fully engaged in offering loans, support, and financing to bring the day of our shared victory closer,"
commented Serhiy Chernenko, FUIB's Board Chairman.
Despite the losses inflicted by the war, FUIB keeps on paying taxes on time. Since 24 February 2022, the FUIB has paid more than UAH 4.15 billion in taxes and levies to the national budget, ranking among the top five largest tax-paying banks in Ukraine. This contribution has significantly bolstered the resilience of the national financial system, enabling it to endure these challenging times.
Furthermore, FUIB actively supports Ukrainian business, having provided UAH 42 billion in loans to local businesses over the past two years. In particular, the bank granted over UAH 559 million in loans to individual entrepreneurs.
The year of 2023, like its predecessor 2022, has proved that Ukrainians are an indomitable and steadfast nation. Our unyielding efforts toward a shared victory deserve admiration. Regardless of the challenges the next year may bring, it will not sway our determination but will present another step forward toward victory, unity, and prosperity.
