On 6 December, FUIB commemorated the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by hosting a donor event at their new and convenient OKipna office. This initiative, aimed at saving lives affected by ongoing hostilities, served as a gesture of gratitude to the nation's steadfast warriors, volunteers and resilient civilians.
A mobile team from the Blood Centre of the National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology along with the Blood Agents CSO visited FUIB's head office for a significant blood donation drive.
This collaboration resulted in 47 donors contributing over 21 litres of blood, potentially giving 141 Ukrainians a chance for life. FUIB marks eight years of its ongoing commitment to blood donation, a life-saving tradition passionately upheld by its employees.
In war times, the importance of blood cannot be overstated. Major bleeding is the most common and frequent cause of death in conflict zones, making blood transfusion and bleeding control critical for saving lives. Over 1,600 Ukrainians have donated blood as part of the We Are of One Blood project at www.lifesavingmerch.com.ua. Each donation has the potential to save up to three lives.
