To date, DTEK Energy has brought 308,000 tonnes of imported coal from Poland to Ukraine, which makes over three quarters of the total contracted volume of fuel for the entire heating season.
The additional coal from abroad enabled to accumulate the reserves and strengthen the reliability of thermal generation and the Ukrainian energy grid, especially during electricity usage peaks. The company makes every effort to provide Ukrainians with electricity and heating.
"With less than two months left until the end of the heating season, I can state we'd been preparing in advance to pass through this season smoothly despite the war. We launched new coal faces every month to maintain and even increase coal production volumes to ensure reliable operation of thermal power plants. To be on the safe side, we also bought imported fuel to keep and boost coal stocks even in the midst of the autumn and winter months. We put every effort to navigate this heating season well,"
said Ildar Salieiev, CEO of DTEK Energy.
