Corporate Governance
Ethics
The document “How We Work” outlines our guiding standards and principles, which can be summarised as follows.
- Honesty and good faith in internal relations
- Integrity in dealings with customers and business partners
- Respect for individuals and adherence to human rights
- Transparency and openness
- Zero tolerance for bribery and corruption
- Commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility
- Adherence to the rule of law
These principles form the basis on which our businesses develop their corporate ethics. All employees across the organisation are expected to adhere to these principles and their respective codes of ethics and business conduct. We also encourage contractors, along with any individuals or entities authorised to represent SCM externally, to align their codes of ethics with ours. By doing so, we ensure that all parties are aligned in this regard.
We are fundamentally committed to the highest standards of corporate integrity and ethical conduct. We recognize the vital role our employees and stakeholders play in achieving this by voicing concerns. The SCM Trust Line has been established as a dedicated, confidential feedback channel, providing a secure mechanism to report potential misconduct or express concerns about outcomes related to our shared objectives. This instrument reaffirms SCM's unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability.
Compliance
All employees must maintain a rigorous zero-tolerance approach to any form of corruption in their dealings with business partners, intermediaries, officials, politically exposed persons (PEPs), and state and local government entities.
These commitments are clearly articulated in our comprehensive Anti-Corruption Policy. We strongly encourage all business partners, intermediaries and other relevant stakeholders to read and familiarise themselves with it.
SCM’s Risk Management Policy defines the systems that it uses for strategic planning and a comprehensive understanding of both risks and opportunities. It also establishes the minimum requirements for risk management and mitigation throughout the entire organisation.
The policy aims to serve as a permanent, living document and will be subject to review as needed. It reflects our commitment to responsible governance, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and the long-term protection of our assets, reputation and people. To promote transparency, the full policy can be viewed in the Risk Management Policy document.
